Glimpse of Recent Flood in Pakistan
The catastrophe, which started almost a week ago and has killed more than 1,400 people, is likely to deepen as more rains are expected and conditions are ripe for the outbreak of disease.
Pakistani authorities are struggling to help flood victims, many of whom have lost everything and say they had not received any warnings raging waters were heading their way.
Anger was palpable in towns such as Charsadda. A Reuters reporter saw people attacking trucks distributing relief items.

Microsoft has now released the new logo of Internet Explorer 9, the logo looks refreshing with a new look ‘e’, which has been the default look of IE over the years. The new IE9 logo was unveiled along with the Microsoft’s heads-up for the upcoming launch event for the Beta development milestone which is slated for September 15.
IE9 comes with powerful new hardware acceleration and also supports all the latest web standards.
Users will be able to download the beta version of IE9 on September 15th.

Giant Mecca Clock seeks to Call Time on Greenwich
MAKKAH, Saudi Arabia, Aug 10, (AFP): Muslims around the world could be setting their watches to a new time soon when the world’s largest clock begins ticking atop a soaring skyscraper in Islam’s holiest city of Makkah.
Saudi Arabia hopes the four faces of the new clock, which will loom over Makkah’s Grand Mosque from what is expected to be the world’s second tallest building, will establish Makkah as an alternate time standard to the Greenwich median.
